Trinidad and Tobago sits at the southern edge of the Caribbean, immediately off the Venezuelan shelf, and is the region’s most important natural gas province. Production is overwhelmingly gas-weighted, feeding the country’s LNG trains at Point Fortin and a large downstream petrochemical complex producing ammonia and methanol. Drilling activity splits between mature shallow-water fields off the east and south coasts — much of it infill and development work in long-producing reservoirs — and deepwater and cross-border gas projects that extend the resource base.

Major operators include Shell, BP (through its bpTT joint venture), EOG Resources and Woodside, alongside the state’s participation. The mix of aging platforms and new deepwater tie-backs means both routine development drilling and higher-specification exploration wells are in play, each with different tubular and tool requirements.

Gas development and deepwater exploration place a premium on well-maintained, fully certified tubulars.
