Inspection & Certification FAQs

Inspection categories, certification standards and traceability for rental tubulars.

How is rental drill pipe inspected?
Rental drill pipe is inspected to recognized industry standards such as DS-1 and API RP 7G-2, covering the tube body (EMI, ultrasonic), tool joints (dimensional, MPI), and hardbanding. Each joint is serialized with an inspection record so you can trace category, class and inspection date.
What inspection class should I request?
Common classes are Premium Class (minimum 80% remaining wall) and Class 2 (minimum 70%). Premium Class is standard for demanding directional and deep wells; the right class depends on your loads, dogleg severity and operating pressures.
Are your tools certified for sour (H2S) service?
Yes — we carry NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156-compliant tubulars and pressure-control tools for sour service. Specify H2S partial pressure and temperature and we supply appropriately rated material with documentation.
Do rental tools come with certification paperwork?
Every rental ships with inspection reports, mill/material certificates where applicable, and connection data. In documentation-intensive regions such as the North Sea we provide NORSOK-aligned traceability packages.
